At Callisto Newfoundlands, we discriminately breed to produce quality show, working and companion Newfies. We have devoted the last 34 years to raising, training, competing, and producing beautiful and sound Newfoundlands. It has been a learning and growing adventure that has made us grateful for this road that we have traveled and proud of our Newfies. It has taught us life lessons, and made us some wonderful forever friends.
The confirmed black and Landseer litters that are due to be born at Christmas
2011 are truly special.
The sire of the first litter of black, possibly Landseer puppies, is our homegrown "Boomer", CH. Callisto's Oiseau de Tonnerre CGC TDI, OFA, CHIC. Boomer is not only a beautiful Landseer ( see show photo), but his soundness of movement is like a breath of fresh air. He has incredible reach and drive, and has passed this on to many of his offspring. The people that have personally worked with him can attest to his sweet temperament. He has a big gentle heart, and likes everyone that he meets. Boomer's name translated from French, is "Thunderbird", which is a native New Mexican symbol. The dam of the litter is our darling, Capri, who is sired by "Lance", CH. Callisto's Tour de France, OFA.
The
second litter will be all Landseer and is a repeat breeding of our bonded pair
(!), Charlie and Bru; Topmast's Charlie Zebediah X Callisto's Nambe Bru. Charlie
is a big boy and his bloodline is from the Topmast kennel in Canada. His other
best friends, Bob and Irene did a wonderful job with his early development. He
is very special Newfie. Bru is a full sister to Boomer, and is a stocky, well
built, typey girl that is a perfect match for Charlie. The first breeding of
Charlie and Bru produced two exceptional girls, CHAOS and Angel. CHAOS lives
with people that are a perfect match for her talents, whether it is the show
ring, the lake, or the obedience ring. I am thankful for their efforts with this
special girl. Charlie's Angel is a big girl that is developing into a lovely
lady and she will be bred to Boomer in the spring for summer Landseer puppies.
We
are looking for special homes for these upcoming Christmas puppies. All of our
puppies are screened by a veterinarian, and carefully matched to their
prospective owners. We do take deposits as reservations and appreciate the
opportunity to get to know our new puppy owners. We are experienced with
shipping puppies by air, and carefully research to choose the best flights
available. We will proudly share with you a complete pedigree. Puppies are
raised in our home with lots of socialization. Companion puppies are sold with
limited AKC registrations and spay/neuter agreements, and will be a perfect best
friend for your family and children, or as a working dog in water, drafting or
obedience. Whether your purpose for the puppy is as a family companion,
competitive show dog, or as a fun water or draft dog, you will get a quality
Newfie puppy that you will be proud of, and so will we!
