Desert Winds Chesapeake Bay Retrievers

Desert Winds Kennels was established in 1993. Our facilities are annually inspected and licensed by the Department of Animal Control and the American Kennel Club. Our first Chesapeake came to us from bloodlines that have been known both in the show ring and in the field for decades, such lines have produced multiple Westminster Kennel Club winners, multiple Champions, multiple field trial winners, obedience title's, therapy dogs and canine good citizens. We are privileged to carry on these wonderful and successful lines by contributing to and adding a few new titles to these highly accomplished blood lines.

Currently our dogs are performing extremely well in the conformation ring, with multiple Best of Breed wins and multiple group placements. Several of our dogs have been invited to top prestigious shows such as the Eukanuba National Championship and Westminster Kennel Club and have done very well. Our current star "Jake" has consistently been in the top 10 of our breed nationally, in 2010 he finished the #3 Chesapeake in the nation, he has been invited to the Eukanuba National Championship for the last four years, in December of 2008 and 2010 he was awarded Best of Opposite Sex and in 2009 he won a Judges Award of Excellence. Jake has attended Westminster Kennel Club in New York in Feb 08 and in Feb 09 he was awarded a Judges Award of Merit. Jake is one of the top 5 Chesapeake's invited to the Westminster Kennel club in February 2010, 2011 and 2012. Our dogs are OFA and CERF tested and come from lines that have been tested and passed for generations and generations. Puppies are bred on a selective basis with concentration on pedigrees, proper coat and most of all temperament. We are a small, family oriented kennel and pride ourselves in raising a well rounded, versatile dog with a wonderful temperament. Our dogs are raised as an important part of our family. We are an extremely active family and enjoy multiple activities from going to the beach or to the desert and the dogs are included in all. I believe including the dogs with our activities makes them even more of a wonderful family companion and we hope you will too.

Desert Winds takes pride in every puppy we produce whether the puppy goes on to be an award winning show dog, master hunter or the best "best friend" you could ever have. We strive to find the best homes for our puppies and the best puppies for their new owners.
